Director: TBD. The Empty Chair is a story of friendship shared by three men and their journey of faith. The death of his first girlfriend makes Jake angry toward God. His disbelief further wells in his heart with the merciless killings he has witnessed in several of his Marine missions. An incident in Nigeria changes his idea of God when a chaplain risks his own life to save him. Jake decides to pursue Chaplaincy in Wake Forest, NC thinking he has a debt to pay. His journey takes a twist when he finds himself in Pakistan after finding that his friend Cameron and his wife Lilly, who are on mission in India, are in danger; Jake does his best to save them, even if it means giving up his own life. Their lives take some twists and turns and the relationships between the four are developed, including exciting and dramatic events that are based on true stories. Jake’s journey for redemption takes him on an emotional ride and leads him to love and hope that he never expected to find.

Drew is a single mother of a daughter that she had when she was sixteen. The church shuns her, not knowing the real story behind the pregnancy. Once Rhonda’s best friend, the two have now become enemies. Jake is the first person she has seen romantically since a horrific night during a fall festival that changed her life.

A former special forces Marine, Jake begins to work with the youth from the inner city and their love for skateboarding. After being turned down for support by a large church, Jake finds himself at a small, aging African-American church just outside of town that steps up and makes his dream happen through their own sacrifice. One of the teens, Little Joe, who becomes addicted to a manufactured marijuana substitute that almost takes his life, but builds a relationship with Miss Harriet from the church, a ninety-six year old that uses her cane for more than walking. Jake struggles with the pain and anger he carries, which prevents him from having a relationship with Drew.

Thomas, a preacher’s son, puts himself above his three roommates because of his family’s involvement with Trinity College. He is young and naive. He falls in love with Rhonda, the landlord of the student’s home. She takes him for a ride that almost destroys his morals and life, but he ends up finding love in an unexpected place. His relationship is strained with his father, especially after Jake’s outreach trip that lands the four students in jail.

Cameron, a typical Alabama country boy who loves his fiancée, Lilly, a strong southern woman that is the glue of their relationship. They are very involved in working with small children and go to India for missionary work. Cameron is Jake’s best friend. Cameron and Lilly adopt Anna, a four year old Indian girl who doesn’t speak, probably because of the event that killed her parents. A militant group of extremists bomb the orphanage and Cameron and Lilly find themselves running for their lives. They are intercepted near the border of Pakistan where the terrorist pour gasoline on them and prepare to set them on fire. Meanwhile, Jake is on his way to try to save them.
