Casting Call on New Demon Series “South of Hell” in SC

WE tv is bringing a new supernatural themed thriller to us next year in 2015.

The new show titled “South of Hell” begins filming shortly in the Charleston, SC area. The show’s extras casting directors at NCasting have just released the casting information for those that want to apply to be on the show. The show is currently scheduled to begin production in Charleston on October 20th.

The show follows a demon hunter named Maria Abascal.   Maria is a Demon hunter for hire, so to speak, and with her brother, the pair hunts and exorcises the demons in others. Maria, however, is not all alone in her body either. She too has a demon inside her wanting to get out and it takes all of Maria’s strength to keep her demon in check and prevent her demon from overtaking her completely. The series is set in the Savannah, Georgia area, though it will film in SC.

According to the WE tv blog, the network has ordered Eight 60-minute episodes of the supernatural show which will be produced by Sonar Entertainment and Blumhouse (“Paranormal Activity,” “Insidious,” “Sinister”). The network also reports that Eli Roth (“Hostel“, “The Green Inferno“) will be directing the 1st episode of the show.

Matt Lambert is writing the 1st episode of the show and James Manos, Jr. (“Dexter,” “The Shield,” “The Sopranos”) will executive produce. Also executive producing the series is a guy known for creepy demon stories, Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions.

“As WE tv moves firmly into scripted programming, we are committed to presenting distinctive and engaging stories to today’s savvy TV audience,” said Marc Juris, WE tv’s president. “That is certainly the case with ‘South of Hell,’ a dramatic thriller that introduces viewers to an unforgettable character, supernatural themes and the battle between good and evil.”

As the production date gets closer, an open casting call will also be held in SC. For now, talent interested in working as a series extras can follow the below submission instructions to get their info to the show’s casting director. The show will be needing extras of all ages, types and sizes. Some, may even get to wear special FX makeup.

    I would love to do the TV show but if I get casted will there be free transportation because I can get there for casting but the transportation thing, email me for pictures.

      No, most extra work will not provide any transportation and you should not apply unless you know you can get there because many casting directors will not consider anyone ever again if they get cast and do not show up. You should only apply to jobs that are local.
