Online auditions are open to those that want to try out for the lead in the Columbia Pictures feature film “Little House on the Prairie“. There has talk about this film for a few years and 2 years back Deadline reported that Sony Pictures was in talks to produce the film. The film is finally in pre-production and is in need of finding a 10 to 12 year old little girl to play the lead.

Little House On The Prairie is based on the children’s book series by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The book was written in the 30’s and described what life was like in the American west on a farm. The book was later turned into the TV series “Little House on the Prairie” which aired in the 70’s and early 80’s and starred Melissa Gilbert as Laura. The series also made Melissa Gilbert a household name at the time.

The films casting directors have created a webpage to accept video auditions from girls nationwide who would like to audition for the part. You do not need to have an agent to be cast for this role. It is open to all girls.
