Meg Ryan Film “Ithaca” Announces Extras Casting in VA

Richmond, VA background and extras for  WWII film “Ithaca”

Ithaca” will begin filming in Richmond later this month and the production is seeking extras, stand-ins and vintage vehicles. Residents of the central Virginia area have a chance to get cast in some minor roles in the production.

Arvold casting is looking for general extras for the production who can pull off a 1940’s look. They are particularly interested in adults 18 and older who can play younger.

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan will have a new film coming out. This time the pair will not be in front of the camera, but behind it. The new film “Ithaca” is being directed by Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks was named as one of the producers.

Meg Ryan will be wearing 2 hats on this production as she is also starring along with her son Jack Quaid. Also starring in the film is Sam Shepard and Melanie Griffith. Ryan will  be making her directorial debut with this film.   “Ithaca” is based on the 40?s novel “The Human Comedy,” written by Pulitzer Prize winning writer William Saroyan.

Ithaca” is set during WWII. The film is set in a small California town during 1942. It is a story about a 14-year old boy named Homer Macauley. Homer’s older brother has gone off to war and he works as a telegraph bike messenger to help take care of his family. As Homer delivers his messages, one of them will change him forever.
Ithaca” is scheduled to film in the Richmond / central Virginia area from July 21st to August 25th.

Erica Arvold Casting in Virginia will be handling the extras casting on the feature film.

The feature film ITHACA will be shooting in the Central Virginia/Richmond area, and Arvold Casting is seeking paid background artists who look authentically from the 1942 time period and are local to the Central Virginia/Richmond area.

Especially in need of men and women with slender to average build, as well as those 18 and over who look younger than 18.

Virginia residents who are interested in working on the film as paid background actors can follow the submission instructions on the Arvold site.

Currently, “Ithaca” is scheduled to be released in theaters next year.
