Season one of Lee Daniel’s “Empire” Now Casting in Chicago

New FOX series ‘Empire” is about to begin filming in Chicago!

Empire” will begin filming in August and is now taking submissions from Chicago locals who would like to work as extras and featured extras on set.

The show’s CD’s are looking for hot, hip, trendy and upscale background actors for the first few episodes of the show. Since this films in Chicago, they will ONLY be considering talent that lives in Chicago or one of its suburbs.

Lee Daniels (“Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” “Precious”) and Danny Strong (“Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” “Game Change”) are bringing a new show to FOX. The new series is EMPIRE, a sexy and powerful new drama series about the inner workings of a family run Hip Hop record label. “Empire” stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson and Gabourey Sidibe. Terrence Howard (“Hustle & Flow”) plays Lucious, the music mogul and head of the  Hip Hop empire he created. But things are not on the up and up here. Lucious is an ex thug with a tainted past and after he finds out he is sick and getting sicker, he must find someone in his family to tale the reigns. Lucious has 3 sons that he is trying to groom for the position, none of which he believes can actually take over successfully.

 

Things get more complicated when his ex-wife Cookie, gets released from prison earlier than expected and wants a piece of the pie as well. Years earlier she took the fall for both of them in their illegal endeavors that helped fund the companies start-up. “Empire” is about a family fighting it out for who gets eventual control of the multi-million dollar business.

Empire casting call for extras in Chicago

All the family drama and chaos will be set to an original soundtrack created for the show by by hip-hop producer Timbaland. Fox’s “Empire” is just about to begin filming season one and we should expect the series to premiere in the spring of 2015.

Here is the notice:

Season one of EMPIRE is upon us! And we’re SO excited! We won’t be officially starting until August, but we want to get everyone pumped for what is SURE to be a fabulous show.

The extras casting directors for the show are seeking general extras submissions at this time to be considered for casting when the show begins filming in August as well as some specifics that are listed below.

We are currently looking for new submissions:

We are looking for fabulous, high-end, CLUB GOERS. You’re submitting for the HOTTEST night of the year at the HOTTEST club in the city. Dress to impress, like the whole world is watching! Submit your email with the subject CLUB GIRL or CLUB GUY to empireVIPS@gmail.com. Include your NAME, AGE, HEIGHT, WEIGHT, and PHONE NUMBER. You also must include a RECENT PHOTO (as in, taken at the time of submission) of you in your hottest outfit, hair and makeup ready. Please also include in your email any dance experience you may have (or other cool skills)!

We are also looking for TRENDY HIPSTERS! Tattoos, fun colored hair, awesome clothes, and piercings! If you have a cool look or know how to dress well, we want you! Submit an email with the subject TRENDY to empireVIPS@gmail.com. Include your NAME, AGE, HEIGHT, WEIGHT, and PHONE NUMBER. You also must include a RECENT PHOTO (again, taken at the time of submission) of you looking your trendiest!

VERY IMPORTANT! Picture submissions must be clear, full face/full body, without a blurry filter. No comp shots or head shots! No sunglasses, no hats!

We cast all types, but your submission will not be considered if it doesn’t follow the criteria we have asked for. It’s very important that you submit correctly, as it helps ensure your post is seen and filed.

WE CAN’T WAIT! It’s going to be a fabulous season, and we’re SO ready for all of you amazing people!

IMPORTANT! We only cast extras that are LOCAL to CHICAGO! Neighboring states are okay, but your commute needs to be within reason. We will NOT accept submissions from California, New York, Atlanta, etc.
