Disney Movie Auditions for Kids Coming to Pittsburgh and Cleveland

Here’s a chance to get cast in a Disney movie

Disney’s upcoming movie, “A Wrinkle in Time” is holding a casting call in Pittsburgh, PA and Cleveland Ohio.

If you live in Ohio or Pennsylvania, here is a chance to tryout for a Disney movie role. Disney’s “Wrinkle in Time” is looking for a child actor to fill the role of Charles Wallace, a major character in the upcoming movie. Casting directors are seeking a 5 to 8 year old mixed race boy for the role. The movie has been in the casting process for quite some time and held open auditions this past spring to fill the roles of the other children in the story. Seems this may be the last child role still open and casting directors are hoping to get that role filled in Cleveland or Pittsburgh.

Auditions will be by appointment and parents interested in having their child tryout will need to first email photos along with contact information to the casting team. Children fitting the descriptions will then be contacted with further information and location details. Please see the notice below.

A Wrinkle In Time” stars Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon.  The script for the Disney movie is being penned by Frozen screenwriter Jennifer Lee and being directed by “Selma” director Ava DuVernay. The movie is described as a science fiction fantasy and is based on Madeleine L’Engle’s novel, “A Wrinkle in Time.” The book was originally published in 1963 and the first in a series about a young girl whose scientist father goes missing while working on a secret project known as the tesseract. In the book, 13 year old Meg Murry’s classmates and teachers see her as a troublesome and stubborn student. Her family knows that she is emotionally immature but also sees her capable of doing great things. The family includes her beautiful scientist mother, her absent scientist father, her athletic 10-year-old twin brothers, Sandy and Dennys; and her five-year-old brother Charles Wallace Murry, a child prodigy genius who can sometimes read Meg’s mind. The book won literary awards including the Newbery Medal, Sequoyah Book Award, and Lewis Carroll Shelf Award.

The auditions are by appointment only and will be held in Cleveland on October 1st 2016 and the following week in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 9th.
