Auditions for Walking Dead Walkers.
The Walking Dead attraction at Universal Studios is holding auditions for walkers / zombies and scare actors this week.
Would you love to play a Walker in a live show? If you live in the Los Angeles area here is a chance to be a Walker in full make-up, plus get paid to do so.
Universal Studios Hollywood has been working on an upcoming live scare show based on the popular “Walking Dead” AMC TV series. The attraction is opening up at Universal Studios this summer and promises to be a nightmarish experience that “Walking Dead” fans will love. During WonderCon, the show’s designers gave fans some insight into the new show. Seems that Universal is working with “The Walking Dead” executive producer, Greg Nicotero to make this experience bigger and scarier than anything they have done before. Greg Nicotero is the man behind all of the “Walking Dead” TV series effects, makeup and creatures.
The new show will not just be a seasonal show for the park’s “Halloween Horror Nights,” an event which Universal runs annually, every fall, around Halloween. The upcoming show is going to be a permanent fixture at the park and embrace the entire series through all the past seasons. According to a story in Collider, the new show will invite fans to enter the “Walking Dead” world. Once inside, park goers will find themselves on a journey that engulfs them in “The Walking Dead” experience and will have park goers running for their lives as they find themselves completely surrounded by flesh hungry walkers.
A story in the LATimes, called the new “Walking Dead” show a “no-holds-barred experience”… that promises to be significantly more intense than recent Horror Nights iterations of the maze, with more detailed set designs, props, costumes, makeup and animatronic figures.
Of course, Universal needs to cast all of those walkers that will be scaring the pants off their visitors. Universal Studios Hollywood (Universal City) is looking to cast L.A. area performers to play those walkers. No word as to if these are full time or part-time acting jobs, but since the show will be year round, there may be some steady work involved. “The Walking Dead” Experience will be holding auditions this week in Universal. Auditions will be held on the 5th and 6th at the park’s Globe Theater. This is not an open casting call, auditions are by appointment only and zombie performers… or those that would love to be zombie performers, must first apply through the companies site to reserve an audition slot.
The “Walking Dead” production is looking to cast 100s of performers. Performers must be able to move well and live in the L.A. area since travel costs are not being covered. Universal is only seeking adult performers and those applying must be over the age of 18, with valid ID.
