Game of Thrones Casting Directors Holding Open Casting Call in Dublin for New Projects

An open casting call  is coming up in Dublin where the show has been filming for quite a few seasons now. Casting directors with The Extras Department in Ireland have announced that they will be holding an open casting call this weekend, on Saturday the 8th of April. The casting call is only for adults and locals interested in landing small, background roles on the show. Those interested may attend the open call to meet with casting directors. No experience is necessary. The Extras Department, the company that casts extras for “Game of Thrones” as well as other projects is expanding and looking for Dublin locals who would like to be considered as extras for their upcoming projects.

All those attending are asked to bring proper ID to the event and no prior appointments are necessary.  The show is known to use 1000’s of background actors so casting teams will also be out on the streets of Dublin trying to get the word out.

As for “Game of Thrones,” The new season of the popular HBO fantasy series will be premiering later in the year this time around.  While “Game of Thrones” normally premieres in the spring, the upcoming season is being held until close to summertime.  According to reports, “Game of Thrones” season 7 will be premiering a bit late because they needed the extra time to film winter / snow scenes. “Game of Thrones” season 7 is set to premiere on HBO on July 16, 2017.

For the few that may have missed the series in all the prior seasons, is set in a medieval fantasy world where powerful families rule and dragons still exist. The sets are stunning, the locations lush and the battles epic.  The show will premiere season 7 in 2017 and airs on HBO.

The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s best selling book series “A Song of Ice and Fire” where 7 families are in control. Each family controls their own kingdom and all are scheming, and killing to gain control of them all. The show offers lots of excitement including knights, swords, dragons and a ton of weird,  supernatural stuff.  The show has an ever changing main cast as beloved cast members get killed off and new ones introduced.

This event is FREE to the public. There is no need to register and drop-ins are very much welcome. If you do intend to pop into us, please click attending on this event so we can keep updated.

Make sure to bring along a copy of your ID (Passport) in order to complete your profile. If you already have a profile, there’s no requirement to make a new one. You would just be coming to meet our team and talk to us about working as an extra with us.
