My childhood home is a bit different. My father was a mason and moved out to rural Wayland , New York from suburban East Rochester , New York. I was five and remember it vividly. He built a basement on a twenty acre land lot , that was half submerged in the ground with a concrete floor., while we lived in a tiny camper . We didn’t have running water for the first couple of years . And a half mile long drive way straight up a mountain. It was quite the challenge in the winter as one could imagine. We had an outhouse and a horse he bought me for my fifth birthday ! Yes , without running water ! My home until I was 13, never became more than a damp , basement made of concrete block , with a wood burning stove that kept us warm. We would boil Huge pots of water to have warm water to bathe ourselves. Ironically , It never bothered me that much -. Our home was on the edge of a rivene. My playground a thick forest , horse shoe pits , and dirt roads where I learned to drive an old standard Chevrolet pick up truck. We had an out house about 20 yards from our front door that we used until we had running water. I remember interesting quotes written from people who would visit us from Rochester. Snowstorms , that were so bad that we would have to put chains on my fathers truck tires and sometimes even those didn’t work. And we would walk up the driveway made of two ruts from the truck , in the freezing , windy , snow storm while carrying our groceries and water containers. The house , stayed quite cool in the summer as it was partly underground. It had two bedroom , one bathroom and an open kitchen living room plan.

Yes! I would love to go back home and share with my husband the places where I lived during my childhood. I had very unique and interesting stories and It would be just fantastic to share. In a family of 5 kids I am the 3rd one. We are 2 sisters and 3 brothers. I am from Bogota, Colombia. I have been living in the USA for 10 years and have not been back since then.. I am a resident here in the USA. I am married to an American citizen to whom I met online almost 3 years ago. My story will sell and probably make me rich, too. lol …I mean it!
