“The Mistress” is a short film about Michael, who was born in Vietnam and taken to America at age 5 to escape the war, and has now returned to Vietnam after 30 years to be reunited with his half-brother–who was left behind to face the war. WE WILL ONLY BE SHOOTING ONE SCENE FROM THE FILM AT THIS TIME. Actors will have first option when the film is produced in its entirety.

The Mistress – Casting notice posted on auditionsfree.com, casting location: Oakland, CA

FORMAT: HD

ROLES:

MICHAEL (lead) – Late 30s to early 40s, half Asian (Vietnamese), half Caucasian (American). Michael was born in Vietnam during the war and at age 5 was taken by his parents to safety in America. Now, after 30 years, he has returned to Vietnam to be reunited with his half-brother Lanh, who was left behind. Michael is a (somewhat unsuccessful) photographer. He is very Americanized–but he wishes he weren’t.

LANH (lead) – Early to mid-40s, Asian (Vietnamese). Lanh is only a couple of years older than Michael, but he looks much older by now. He is full-blooded Vietnamese and was left behind during the war. After 30 years, he has become a ruthless and successful businessman. He has never forgotten his little brother–nor forgiven him for what is in their past.
