Commercial Photographer casting models
Casting notice posted on, casting location: Oakland, CA
Hello Oakland Community,

I am a still photographer casting actors/models for a series of large images depicting scenes from the Judeo-Christian tradition, in contemporary settings. Our photo shoots will be on-location around the Oakland area and take pace during May and June. Shoots will be casual and collaborative, though professional makeup, lighting, and props will be provided. This is not a paid opportunity, as our studio is self-funding the project without a commercial client.

The first scene will be “The Sacrifice of Isaac.” 2 African-American males, ages 15-19 and 60+, both should provide their own white shirt, black pants, tie, and coat. Modeling or dramatic experience a plus. E-mail a headshot for consideration.

The second scene will be “Moses in the Bulrushes.” a family of 3 is needed, one mother, one baby, and one 12-16 year old daughter. This will be a safe and closely supervised shoot. The mother character must be comfortable in water.

The third scene will be “Hosea & Gomer.” Three characters are needed, one scholarly, African-American man, age 25-35 to play the profit Hosea, one white woman, age 20-28 to play the prostitute, Gomer, and one large man, age 35+ to play the Slave Trader.

More to follow, please send headshots by e-mail as well as a brief description of your experience, interest, and contact information. Thanks! Matt Beardsley,
