Description New Jersey Playwrights Contest of WPUNJ in Wayne, NJ is casting Buick Becomes Electra or The Torrid Zone, a new play by Stan Werse, director Ed Matthews. Rehearsals begin in April, performs June 3 – 13, 2010 all in Wayne, NJ. Public transportation possible, car recommended.

Buick is a mix of Greek mythology, film noir and dark comedy with a hint of the “Twilight Zone.” A condescending Professor Cooper picks up a mysterious hitchhiker on his way to deliver the paper that will be the crowning moment in his distinguished life. He soon learns that Alexis is much more than she appears and hell hath no fury… well, you know the rest… or do you?

Seeking:
Alexis: female, 20s-30s, hip, attractive, mysterious.

Cooper: male, 40s+, pompous college Professor, but charming rogue.

Transportation stipend possible for these two roles.

Various other roles: 3-5 females, 20s-40s; 3-6 males, 20s-50s.

Auditions
Mon 3/22: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Tues 3/23: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Sunday 3/28: 1 PM – 4 PM.
Callbacks – Wednesday 3/31: 6 PM – 9 PM
