Auditions for O.C. ICON 2010 vocal competition

This second annual solo vocal competition for Southern CA youth ages: 7-18 will kick off in Costa Mesa on June 12th.
OC ICON (formerly OC Idol) is a several-month-long event which offers young people audition experience with feedback from experienced judges along with public performance opportunities. A qualifying round narrows down young hopefuls to roughly 50-75 in each age bracket who will perform on stage in front of an audience at the semifinals. From here, 10 finalists from each age division will be chosen to go on to the final concert event which will take place on Saturday, September 11th at The Irvine Barclay Theater. That night, celebrity judges from television, recording and theater will give feedback to each contestant.
The winners in The Final Concert Event will be determined by a combination of votes from the panel of judges and the attending theater audience that evening.
One winner from each age group will be chosen and awarded a trophy and a prize package consisting of:
• A professional headshot package
• Vocal Coaching Session provided by ICON Performing Arts Academy of Southern CA
• 2 Songs Professionally Recorded
• 1 Original Song written/produced for or with the artist
• 1 Music Video Produced for their original song

• June 19— The Village at Orange
• June 26— The Shoppes at Chino Hills

In the final concert event, 3 winners will be chosen by combining the votes from the theater audience in attendance that evening and the celebrity judges. The judges each get 10% of the vote and the audience gets the lion share with 60-70%.
