Are you tired of doing the same old plays over and over again? How about joining us and being part of an original project.

The Bryon Garrison Theater Company is holding auditions for their 2011 season for the plays: “Cupid’s Revenge”, “April’s Fool”, and for the musical “Buttercup Girls”.

The first audition will be held on January 6, 2011 7-9pm at the Lincoln Square Theatre in Decatur, IL. This audition will ostensibly be focused on Cupid’s Revenge but we will be looking for characters for the other two plays as well. Please come out and audition. We are looking forward to meeting you. If you have any questions or would like to schedule your audition we encourage you to call our producer Destiny Cross at 217-820-7943. Scheduled auditions will be given priority but all are welcome to audition.

April’s Fool

Description: This is the first play Mr. Garrison has written specifically for Decatur. Everyday life can be full of surprises. Come to the theater on April 1st and find out who will become April’s Fool. This romantic comedy is sure to please the jokester and romantic in all of us. April 1st and 2nd.

Buttercup Girls

Description: This musical follows the antics of a struggling dance troop. The group is trying to make things happen and they are about to get their big break a chance to perform with Jack Duvier. Come out and get to know Maria, Lena, Vicky and the rest of the girls as they experience the ups and downs of show business! July 15th-17th.

Cupid’s Revenge Parts
Cupid – Looking for an imposing figure. Bart Simpson or Al Bundy with wings and a beer.
Nymph 1 – Must be a young woman between 18 and 29 years of age attractive, lithe, and expressive.
Nymph 2 – Must be a young woman between 18 and 29 years of age attractive, lithe, and expressive.
Belinda – Young woman18-35 Attractive, smart.
Valerie – Young woman 18-35 Attractive, modern.
Harvey Winkle – Nerd who has no idea of his nerd status. Attractive man. Good comedic actor. Looks 18-38.
Several Walk on parts for young women who want to get their first taste of theater.

April’s Fool Parts
Looking for college age actors/actresses. Singing required for some roles.

Buttercup Girls Parts
All the girls need to be young looking with good bodies. Dancing and singing required for most roles.
Maria: Lead singer of the Butter Cup Girls
Vicky: All American Girl who pretends to be a vixen
Betty: Tom Boy, Innocent who loves everybody
Lena: Vixen who pretends to be an All American Girl
Felicia: Understudy and New Girl, Understudy for Maria
Jan: Buttercup Girl
Kimberly: Buttercup Girl
Sam: Male who looks 25-45 years of age. Director of Buttercup Girls. The boss. Guy the girls look up to and rib. He pays them.
Bob Hagey: Male who looks 45-60 years of age. Theater Owner
Mr. Camden: Male who looks 45-60 years of age. Felicia’s Dad
Jack Duvier: Male who looks 25-40 years of age. Sinatra Type Heart Throb
Pixies: Competitors for Buttercup girls. Girls that look between the age of 18-35. In shape, dancer’s body. No singing required.
