All actors must also be available for callbacks on Monday, January 31st at 7 p.m. Rehearsals will be Monday and Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons beginning February 23rd. All actors must prepare a Shakespearean monologue for the Sunday audition (monologues need not be memorized, please visit if you need suggestions). Sides from the play will be read at the Monday callbacks.

This production will be a modern-day interpretation of this classic play, preserving Shakespeare’s language. Roles will be available for a minimum of 9 men and 5 women. A woman will be cast in the role of Mercutio, Romeo’s best friend. Experience with Shakespeare is absolutely NOT required. Teen boys and girls are strongly encouraged to audition; only teens 16 and up may be considered for lead roles, but other roles may be available for teens under 16. It is highly recommended that teens bring a parent to the auditions.
