Guiding Star Dance Foundation is currently seeking male and female dancers and actors for immediate hire for theatrical production in September 2011. We are looking for professional dancers (age 18 & above) who are familiar with ballet, jazz, hip hop, Indian classical dance or Middle Eastern Dance. Understudy positions are also available. There are some openings available for actors too.
The vision of the Guiding Star Dance Foundation is to further the reach of Indian dance forms by establishing an extended cultural community that provides dance performances, training, and community programs for all people. This foundation exists to support, sustain, and further the wide range of beautiful forms of Indian dances to the Northern parts of the America. As important as its artistic and educational mission, this performing arts foundation wishes to play a social role, by using the medium of dance to unite cultures and people of all races, ages and backgrounds.
ABOUT THE AUDITION
Please have a 2-3 minute solo prepared that showcases your dance talents. Dancers will also learn portions of Indian dance choreographies to perform as a group. No warm-up will be given, so please arrive ready to dance. Finalists may be interviewed at the end of the audition or prior to signing. Please bring a current headshot or recent photo which will be collected.

Auditions will be held May 15(Sunday) and May 22(Sunday) at 5:00 pm in St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church, 2365 McAleer Road, Sewickley, PA 15143.
ABOUT REHEARSALS
Rehearsals will be held Thursday nights from June through September, with additional rehearsals according to dancer need and during the week of Labor Day. The performance will debut Friday September 9 with the final show on Sunday September 11.
