‘X Factor’ Auditions Announced

X Factor 2011 Tryouts

Auditions for the new Simon Cowell talent show X Factor have been announced.

The new show has the largest prize in talent show history, a whopping $5 million, yep, $5 mil and that is not a misprint.

If you want to be the next talent competition superstar, you better start practicing now since auditions are coming up quickly. Auditions for X Factor are set to begin on March 27th 2011 at the L.A. sports Arena then on to other U.S. cities. Cities announced so far include L.A., Chicago, Dallas, New York, Seattle and Miami. The dates for cities other than Los Angeles have not been announced yet.

The X Factor will differ from American Idol by allowing contestants of all ages without an upper age restriction. Also, the show encourages groups to apply as well.  When asked about the lack of age restrictions Simon Cowell commented “Susan Boyle taught me a huge lesson. I have to be more open-minded”

The $5 million prize will be awarded to the winner by way of a recording deal with Sony. Judges for the show have not been announced and the ‘X Factor’ is supposed to run on FOX beginning in the fall of 2011.
