FAIREST – An Original Gothic Musical

DalugePechacek Productions are holding an open call audition for a showcase of their new original musical FAIREST. This new work will be presented on Saturday and Sunday, February 9 & 10, 2013 at 7:00pm at The Master Class Theatre in Winter Park. The showcase will feature selected songs from the score along with narration.
All auditions will be by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Once you submit your resume and headshot you will be notified of your audition time, date, and location. If you need a specific time frame, please note it in your submission request.

*AEA members are welcome to audition. All proceeds from the showcase will go to the AEA organization as a donation. Performers will not receive any financial compensation, but will receive online exposure via websites.

If you are given an appointment, you will be sent a specific song you will need to rehearse and have prepared that pertains to the character you are best suited for. You will also be given a side to learn. There will not be a callback process, final decisions will be made based on the initial audition. You also will be required to come prepared with 24 bars of one contemporary musical theatre song of your choosing. Bring sheet music in correct key; accompanist will be provided.
SEEKING:
THE MIRROR MAKER/THE MIRROR: Male, Late 40’s, LYRIC BASS-BARITONE, Expected Range F2-F#4. A man who is an abusive, bitter drunk who blames his daughter, Claudia, for his sorrow.
CLAUDIA: Female, Late 20’s, MEZZO SOPRANO – ALTO, Expected Range G3-G5 – Must be able to belt to a C5. Claudia is a natural beauty. She is a kind and loving woman whose downfall is her extremist personality.
HANS: Male, Late 20’s, VERDI (High) BARITONE, Expected Range G2-A4 – Must have a Falsetto range to E5. He is a robust man obsessed with Claudia. Hans is a Huntsman and has a strong, manipulative dark nature.
RAQUEL: Female, Late Teens, LYRIC SOPRANO, Expected Range A3-B5. A spirited young woman with a desire for adventure. who falls in love with Gustoffe.
GUSTOFFE: Male, Early 20’s, TENOR, Expected Range C3-C5. Gustoffe is a noble, chivalrous, valiant young man who is the love interest of Raquel.
TUCK: Female, Mid 20’s, MEZZO SOPRANO – ALTO, Expected Range A3-G5. She is a tomboy, and the only girl in a group of seven male outcasts.
ENSEMBLE: 2 Female (Soprano or Alto), 2 Male (Tenor or Baritone/Bass)
