Danielle Gubin is an experienced writer of original off off Broadway children’s plays. Her latest play, Rudy and the Christmas Reindeer, is a fun, contemporary take on the classic story of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and will be performed this holiday season in the heart of the theater district at the Roy Arias Theater in Times Square. This year’s performance is scheduled for December 8, 2012.
Young actors, ages 5-18, will get the opportunity to perform in a costumed production as well as being a part of something that will benefit other young people over the holidays. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to buy toys for Toys for Tots, a charity that gives toys to underprivileged children during the holidays. We truly hope to make this “theater for a cause.”
Auditions will take place Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 4-6 pm and Sunday afternoon, September 23, 2012 from 4-6 pm Paul Michael’s The Network. It is located at 242 West 36th street between 7th and 8th Avenue and is on the 3rd floor. In order for your child to be scheduled for an audition, please apply and message us and a time slot will be given for your preferred day.
Please note that children must bring a head shot and resume (stapled together) to this audition where they will be required to recite one minute of a monologue and sing a verse of a song a capella (to get a sense of personality). Knock knock jokes are okay for younger children in replacement of the monologue but they will still be required to sing a short verse of a song. First time actors are welcomed!
Rehearsals for Rudy and the Christmas Reindeer will take place on the following dates at Paul Michael’s The Network:
Sunday, October 14th, 2012, 4-6 pm
Sunday, October 28th, 2012, 4-6 pm
Saturday, November 10th, 4-6pm
Saturday, November 24th, 4-6 pm
Friday, December 7th, 2012 (tentative dress rehearsal at Roy Arias Theater in Times Square.)
This is non equity and there is no pay.
All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Rudy is a lovable red nosed reindeer who is about to embark on his first adventure as one of the reindeer on Santa’s present-filled Christmas sleigh. During this experience, Rudy learns a valuable lesson about what it means to be proud of who you are.
JAZZY (REINDEER)

One of Santa’s reindeer, Jazzy is spunky and loves to compete with her sister, Snazzy.
SNAZZY (REINDEER)

One of Santa’s reindeer. Astro has a twin brother/sister named Pluto. Siblings close in age are welcomed for these roles.
