Casting notice posted on auditionsfree.com, casting location: San Francisco, CA
An Emmy-award winning TV production company is seeking SF-Bay Area coffee house managers or baristas to participate in our next feature-length travel documentary in China’s tea growing regions. The show will be released to PBS stations nationwide.

The documentary will be filmed in two major tea growing regions of China, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province (Eastern China) and in Yunnan Province (Southwest China near the border of Burma, Laos, and Vietnam) over two weeks in May (dates TBD). All expenses will be covered, including international airfare, in-country travel, lodging, and meals. (This ad originally stated the travel dates were in April but our deadline got pushed back to May so we are continuing our search for participants.)

We are looking for individuals, roughly between ages of 25-40, who are coffee house managers or baristas that would be interested in learning about China’s tea culture. We prefer that you have no in-depth knowledge of Chinese teas and culture. This individual’s background in coffee culture will provide the program with an interesting comparative perspective on China’s tea culture in the program. If you are selected to go to China, your coffee house will also be featured on our TV show!! We are selecting one Coffee House Manager/Barista and one individual in a different field to go on this trip.

Candidates need to be open-minded, adventurous, a good storyteller, willing to try new things, easy-going, in good health, enthusiastic, AND someone who has never been to China. We prefer that you have some international travel under your belt, but no prior experience in China. (College students and recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.)

Does this sound like you? If so, please email us a recent photo of you, a very brief description of your background, and your reason for wanting to participate in the documentary. Our email is: d3productions@gmail.com Our producers will select a “shortlist” of the top candidates to fill out a more formal Application Form & Questionnaire to help us determine the finalists. We will review applications as they come in and hope to make a decision soon.
