Open Casting Call

Professor Eugene Martin and Producers of the Advanced Film Class are hosting open casting calls. They seek actors of all ages, ethnicities, and levels of experience, as well as actors fluent in Spanish. It is highly encouraged that the actor comes prepared with a short monologue, headshot, and résumé. The casting calls will take place in the Radio, Television and Film building at the University of North Texas campus on February 2 from 6pm-9pm and February 3 and 4 from 2pm-5pm.
The eight short films being produced by students vary in genres, so all talent is welcomed. The films have a three-day shooting schedule that will take place on a specific weekend throughout the spring semester, beginning February 2012.
In addition, three of the films require young actors and actresses from the ages of 5-10. There is a specific call for children on February 4 from 12-2 in the same location. While a specific time is set for children, they are welcome to attend any of the three previously mentioned open casting calls.
Born
As a young man awaits the birth of his child, he recounts the events in his life that led to that moment, from meeting the love of his life to the delivery of his child.
La Dama
Set in a faraway land where DAMA and VALIENTE live a seemingly idyllic relationship, but their peace is disrupted by the arrival of an adventurer named MUNDO, whose brief stop at the couple’s home will mark a permanent change in their lives.
Darling
A young girl tries to cope with the recent death of her father by running away from home.
Deceit (Working Title)
William and Alicia have a perfect, happy relationship, but William begins to suspect that things may not be as they seem. William fears that not only is his girlfriend being stalked but is cheating on him with the stalker.
Good Morning
Tamara Dobson is a sophomore at Van Peebles High School. Her mother passed away not long ago in a fight with breast cancer for two years. Tamara is left to care for her younger brother and sister, and also her bedridden grandmother. She has to put her dreams of returning to the cheer squad to the side in order to care for her family properly.
The Home Front
Sandra returns home after her tour in Afghanistan and attempts to adjust to civilian life. After encountering an old friend with whom she had a falling out, they begin to rekindle their friendship, and both learn the value within themselves.
House of Fortune (Working Title)
A man awakes from the aftermath of a home invasion gone array and must quickly identify the culprit.
Stressed (Working Title)
During hard economic times a young veteran with PTSD struggles to provide for his splintered family and keep his morals in a world of illegal opportunity.
