Paid Movie Extras Mississippi
The James Brown biopic “Get on Up” is filming in Natchez, Mississippi and a casting call for extras has just been released. Tammy Smith Casting is looking for African-American paid extras who are 18 to 55 years old. This movie is set in the 50’s and 60’s, so they are seeking people who can fit that era, natural hair, no extensions, color, etc.
This casting is for a James Brown concert scene.

“Get On Up” is a biopic about the life of the Godfather of soul, James Brown. The film features an all-star cast that includes Dan Aykroyd, Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Lennie James, Chadwick Boseman and many others.
The movie is directed by Tate Taylor and 42’s Chadwick Boseman plays James Brown. The film is based the life of the famous singer and will follow James Brown through 3 decades spanning from childhood to his rise to fame and becoming one of the most influential musical figures of his time.

The following types are needed for
a WED/THURS (12/18 & 12/19) scene (2 days)
and/OR also for a FRIDAY ONLY (12/20) scene
ALL are great scenes!
We are looking to book the following paid extras:
AFRICAN AMERICAN MEN and WOMEN, ages 18 – 55,
for great concert scenes in the movie with James Brown performing at the Apollo Theater in 1962 and also when he performs “Man’s World” in 1965 (those are the Wed/Thurs scenes)
The Friday scene is with Little Richard
performing as well in 1955
NOTE 1: Because of the periods, we can only have men with shorter hair , bald or possibly a few small afros, and women must have natural or relaxed hair only, with no weaves or wigs and you must be willing to take out braiding.
No dreadlocks.
NOTE 2: You do NOT have to go on a pre-fitting ahead of time at this point, unless you are open to go on one.
NOTE 3: Keep an ear open for a phone call from us tomorrow Monday to book you (don’t forget your phone number in your submission)
NOTE 4: You must be available ALL day for either Wed/Thurs or for just Friday. We start early in the morning and go until around 7pm or so.
