New show about the Northern Minnesota seeks Northerners and Canadians

A US reality show is casting north of the Minnesota border…. Canada

A new reality series based on the life of Northerners in Minnesota is now in production and at the casting stage. Producers, Committee Films,of Minnesota are developing the series for TV and have had shows on popular Cable networks such as Discovery, History, Nat Geo, and Travel Channel. The production company is seeking to cast locals for the reality series and guests for episodes being filmed. They are seeking characters that that highlight the Minnesota way of life and the sort of things that “southerners” may not actually believe actually happen in Northern Minnesota. Even though the series is about Minnesota, they are actively looking for Canadians living just north of the border as well.

Whether insulating a deer stand, setting up an ice house, or carving ice sculptures with a chainsaw, the producers want to cast people that show what life is like in the very frigid north…. in the wintertime. Producers are searching for outgoing and dynamic characters that exemplify what life in the North country is all about.

The companies spokespeople said that “We’re looking for people that run small businesses or engage in unique winter activities to introduce our main characters to,”
Committee Films produces documentary type shows and you can see their work on their site.

While many of the spots will be filled by Minnesotans, Committee Films is encouraging Canadians to apply.
