Disney Online Auditions – Star Wars 2014
The cat seems to be out of the bag. What was previously called “Disney Project” has now been renamed and the “Star Wars” logo has been added to the casting call page.
Auditions for Disney’s Star Wars are now open online and all those that can’t make it to one of the open casting call locations in the US or the UK can now audition online.
The next open casting call will be held in Troy Michigan but if you don’t live in the area, don’t fret, you can have your chance by creating a video audition and submitting the video to the Star Wars casting directors.
The next date is November 17, 2013 – The open casting call will be held at the Somerset Inn at 2601 W. Big Beaver Rd. in Troy, MI 48084 – Time 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
The online auditions are open to residents of the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Online auditions for the new Disney film are being handled through cast it and once you register your email, sides and instructions will be emailed to you. The registration is free and there are no fees to audition or register with the service.

The 2 lead roles that they are casting are being called “Rachel” and “Thomas” – Since Rachel and Thomas do not sound like Star Wars type names, we will just assume they are code words for the 2 characters.
Here are the breakdowns:
RACHEL:
Seeking: Young woman to play 17-18 Years old. Must be beautiful, smart and athletic. Open to all ethnicities (including bi- and multi-racial). Must be 16 or over.
Was quite young when she lost her parents. With no other family, she was forced to make her way alone in a tough, dangerous town. Now 17 she has become street smart and strong. She is able to take care of herself using humor and guts to get by.
Always a survivor, never a victim, she remains hopeful that she can move away from this harsh existence to a better life. She is always thinking of what she can do to move ahead.
THOMAS:
Seeking: Young man to play 19-23 years old. Must be handsome, smart and athletic. Must be 18 or over.
Has grown up without a father’s influence. Without the model of being a man, he doesn’t have the strongest sense of himself. Despite this, he is smart, capable and shows courage when it is needed. He can appreciate the absurdities in life and understands you can’t take life too seriously.

You can apply on the cast it site. You have until the 3rd of next month to get your video together and submit it for consideration.
At this time those are the only 2 roles that they released for the open auditions and there has been no word yet as how the 2 characters fit into the movie. Actually everything has been very hush hush about the production and a recent interview with Harrison Ford also brought no answers because when asked about the film, he simply made a zipper motion across his mouth.

At this time those are the only 2 roles available to the public to tryout for. As production gets closer I’m sure we will start seeing the extras casting call notices coming our way which will allow many more people to participate in this film.
