The Connecticut Renaissance Faire is holding auditions in Danielson, CT for our fall story. Set in the time of King Henry VIII, this year promises to be our best yet! If you think you’d enjoy portraying a character during the renaissance period, then please contact us at auditions@ctfaire.com today to schedule a time. An acting resume and headshot is helpful.

Place: 43 Connecticut Mills Ave, Danielson, CT (performances will be held at our faire site in Norwich CT)

When: July 27 10-5 (other times can be arranged if needed)

What to have ready: two contrasting monologues each under 2 minutes in length, a short song to be sung acapella.

Roles Available:

PRINCESS MARY TUDOR – King Henry’s sister is every bit a Tudor. Imperious, passionate and temperamental, she is a perfect foil for her brother the King.

CHARLES BRANDON – Captain of the King’s guard. Brave, insolent, and devil may care, Charles doesn’t take anything from anybody-not even the woman he loves. *fighting role

DUKE OF BUCKINGHAM – The Kings chief advisor. Jaded, cruel and scheming, he cares for nothing so much as his own treasury.

ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY- Nervous and diplomatic. He hates being the bearer of bad news…especially when it could get him executed.

HERALD – King Henrys royal announcer. He can be self important and vain, but he’s a good man with an eye for the ladies.

MAG- A scullery maid. Mag is flirtatious with the Herald, but fears the nobles.

KING LOUIS XII – King of France. A child in a mans body. He is spoiled and petulant, but imagines himself and ardent lover.

DUKE DeLOUNGVILLE- Kings bodyguard and the real power behind the throne. Cool, swaggering and superior, he will stop at nothing to further the needs of France. *fighting role

ANCEL – The Dukes bitter, brooding English hating henchman. *fighting role

LADY MARGARET – French mistress of propriety. It is her task to turn and English Princess into a French Queen.

LADY DOMINIQUE – A silly, gossiping French lady in waiting.

LADY ANNE BOLEYN – An English noble living in the French court. Beautiful, but jaded and sarcastic, her time there has given her all the French vices and none of its virtues.
