Open Casting Call for Football Film “My All American” in Austin

“My All American” starring Aaron Eckhart, will be having another open casting call for the film.

My All American” will star Aaron Eckhart as coach Darrell Royal. Thus will be a film about the story behind one of footballs greats, Freddie Steinmark, whose 1969 performance in Texas had many football fans excited but his tragic death at a young age in 1971 had many stunned. The film takes us through Freddie’s life as a young scrappy player on his High School football team in Wheat Ridge Colorado, his transition to an inspirational and driving force as a Longhorn at UT, and his eventual losing battle with a cancerous tumor in 1971 that was discovered after a bone bruise.

Finn Wittrock has landed the lead role as Freddie Steinmack and the film will be directed by Angelo Pizzo, writer and producer of “Rudy” and “Hoosiers.”

There have been several casting calls for this film… and here is another one that is coming is. Casting directors with Brock Allen have announced that another open call will be scheduled on the 7th.

AUSTIN, Texas — Brock/Allen Casting announces the casting call for My All American, a feature film based on the true story about University of Texas legend Freddie Steinmark, which will be directed by Angelo Pizzo, a writer and producer known for Hoosiers and Rudy.

The call will take place on June 7, 2014 from 10:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M at the Hilton Garden Inn, 12828 San Pedro, San Antonio, TX 78216.

“We are looking for non-actors, ages 18 years and up. Other various non-speaking roles include but are not limited to light-skinned students, coaches, parents, cheerleaders, sideline football players, people with automobiles from the late ’60s and protestors. No experience is necessary and the extras will be paid $58 a day for an 8-hour guarantee, additional compensation after 8 hours of work. You must be a Texas Resident with a valid TX ID or DL,” states Sally Allen, co-founder of Brock/Allen Casting.

As it states above, the film is seeking paid extras and background to fill a variety of roles. Roles for adults 18 and over of all ethnicities are available.

Some of the specified types are students, parents, coaches, cheerleaders, football players and those that may have some older cars from the 60’s.

The movie will be filming in the Austin Texas area and will only be allowing Texas residents, with valid ID to apply for the roles.

All extras will be paid hourly (see above) and maybe even some overtime.
