Peter Pan Auditions in New York – Paid roles kids & adults

Smithtown Center for the Performing Arts will hold auditions for Peter Pan – The Musical on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM(Please see time breakdowns below) at the theater located at 2 East Main Street, Smithtown.

ALL ROLES ARE OPEN.

Prepare as indicated below. Performances are June 28 through August 24, 2014 (Please visit our web site Smithtownpac.org to see the performance schedule) All those cast must be available for a Thursday Matinee on Thursday, July 24, 2014. Rehearsals will begin in late May and will be every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday evening and on weekends. Stipends available for performers 16 and up – Equity Guest Artist contracts available as needed.

Music Director: Cara Brown

4 PM- Michael – boys and girls between 8 and 12. Very small, bright energy, sings and moves well. NOTE: girls will be considered for the role.

4:30 PM John and The Lost Boys – Age 11-20, must be believable as a ‘tween’ boy. NOTE: some females will be cast and one Lost Boy doubles as Jane. Must sing well and dance. Athleticism a plus.

6 PM- Dancers (pirates and Indians, Nana, Croc) – male and female adults (age 16 and over). Strong dance skills. Please bring appropriate shoes. All must be prepared to sing. Some men will be asked to read for specific pirate roles.

Tiger Lily – excellent dancer who sings and acts with dynamic physical presence. Females considered for the role will be asked to read.

7:30 PM- Young adult women (age 16 and over) for the roles of Peter Pan and Wendy. Excellent singer actors who move well. Wendy has a gentle “Disney soprano” quality. Peter Pan is vivacious with clean belt sound.

8:30 PM- Adult auditions (Pirate Starkey, Smee, Hook, Mrs.Darling, non dancing pirates):
Hook- flamboyant, charismatic dandy with strong baritone, masterful with comedy, also plays the easily flustered Mr. Darling.
Mrs. Darling- 35-45, regal and warm, mezzo
Pirate Starkey- 30-45, a burly rogue, physically intimidating, good with comedy, understudy for Hook.

Smee- 25-45, character type with excellent comic skills.

Be prepared to sing 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the show (golden age musical theater) that showcases your vocal range. Those auditioning for Hook and Smee should prepare a comic selection. An accompanist will be provided; No a cappella singing allowed.
