A brand new play continuing William Shakespeares The Tempest. Centralized around the character of Caliban, this modern language deconstruction of the bards classic text, Nicelle presents an “everyman” Caliban for today’s society, who tackles universal experience through exploring the realities of what left him alone on the island.
Split into five separate personas, played by any gender, age, or race, Caliban, kept company by malevolent stage directions, Ariels chastising tongue, and his personal revelations, discovers the truth and himself.
Rounding out the cast of players is a withered forgetful Prospero, a silenced domesticated suburban Ariel, and a tortured Miranda who long for something other than they bargained for.
Through emails, mixed media, imaginative design, and a tour de force poetic cadence of matching caliber to its original source, On the Island of Caliban violently thrashes after The Tempest as that was only the calm before the storm.

On the Island of Caliban will begin rehearsals in August. The production will open Friday Oct. 2nd with performance on Fri & Sat @ 8PM. Closing Night will be Fri Oct. 30th. With one added performance TBA at a location TBA in Los Angeles.
This show also has a possible opportunity of doing a limited run in New York sometime next year for anyone who is involved in this production will be invited back to be part of the original cast for an east coast premiere.
In addition, this production is part of a reparatory theatre experience. At the space this production is performing at through October
A Midsummers Night Dream Directed/Adapted by Karyn Ben Singer will be running Wed and Thurs evenings and a one night special engagement on Halloween night.
A Staged Reading of Macbeth
Anyone involved in the either or both of the two shows is invited to participate in this event.
As well as any of the other events featuring arts of all mediums that will be a part of this experience for artists, about artists, by artists.
