Auditions for kids in Dallas Texas – Paid, Nickelodeon Style Video Series

Dallas area auditions for young performers, kids 9 through 12 who can sing and dance for a number of Nick / Disney style skits to be used in educational videos.

You Connection is a newly formed faith-based nonprofit corporation in Dallas, Texas, providing Christ-centered character education for ages 8-12 through a power-packed video curriculum series as well as (eventually) live performances.

We are holding auditions for our first 3 video Curriculum Sets, which are formatted in a sketch comedy-style, featuring a studio where Mr. Q, Miss Megs, and a group of kids called the You Connecters bring the character curriculum to life through skits, musical numbers, and other crazy stuff (in a fun, hip style similar to a Christian version of Nickelodeon/Disney Channel/PBS Kids).

We are auditioning for young performers who can act and sing:

Jake (10-12 yrs old) – preferably non-Caucasian – easygoing, laidback

Mason (10-12 yrs old) – Caucasian – intelligent, logical

McKenna (10-12 yrs old) – any ethnicity – cool, hip, spunky

Elizabeth (11-12 yrs old) – Caucasian – sweet, good-natured

Rachel (9-10 yrs old) – Caucasian – plucky, a little mischievous; Elizabeth’s younger sister

(Ages are general; 13 years old is fine as long as they can still pass for kids; we are not wanting the kids to look fully teenage in this set of videos )

Auditions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, so please respond with a headshot or recent photo (a resume is not required, but submit one if the child has one).

Auditions will be on SAT, JAN 10 and SUN, JAN 18, at the Carrollton Public Library on Hebron.

Filming will be in the Dallas area, and will take place in the APRIL – JUNE timeframe. (Filming will be in the evenings, with some possible Saturday shoots, though actors will only be required to be present on days with their scenes.)

Compensation/Reimbursement:
– $300
– gift cards
– paid event appearances (we will be hosting a number of events to promote the curriculum and
raise money for You Connection)
– extensive exposure in the Christian market
– opportunity for ongoing work with us (we will be doing many more video sets in the months ahead)

Actors need to have work permits; if the child does not have one, you can easily obtain a work permit from the Texas Workforce Commission **
