Extras Casting Call in New York for Cinemax “The Knick”

The Cinemax series “The Knick” is filming in New York City and GWC seeks background players to work multiple days this month.

The show is looking for background talent to portray doctors for a scene that will work 3 days, 2 days in April and 1 in May. Please see all the details below for further information on filming days and required availability. The show films in the New York City area and there will be a required fitting for the roles being held this week in NYC. Men applying for the roles must also be under 6 feet tall and OK with getting a period haircut.

The Knick” has been renewed for season 2. Reports state that Cinemax has ordered 10 episodes of the show for the new season which will be premiering on Cinemax in late 2015. The show was being helmed by Emmy winning director Steven Soderbergh and stars Clive Owen as a brilliant surgeon trying to pioneer new techniques during the turn of the last century.

Owen’s character, Doctor John Thackery, is secretly addicted to drugs yet leads a team of surgeons and pioneers new methods at the hospital during the early 1900’s mortality rates at hospitals were high and anti-biotics were not yet available. The show is set at the Knickerbocker Hospital.

THE KNICK is seeking Non-Union Caucasian Men Ages 25-50 to portray Immigration Doctors, Interpreters, and Inspectors for work on 4/6, 4/13 (EXTERIOR), 5/19. Fitting Wed 4/2.

PLEASE NOTE: No one over 6’0 feet tall!
Men must be ok receiving 1900 style haircut and possibly being fit with artificial facial hair. NO SHAVED HEADS, BUZZCUTS, OR SHAVED SIDES. Must be ok working around atmospheric smoke. No allergies to wool.
