SEEKING WISCONSIN’S HOMETOWN KIDS
The Kids from Wisconsin will be holding auditions for their 48th season across the state this February.
Location: Four Wisconsin Cities
Type: General Performers
Artistic staff will audition 20, singer/dancer positions for the troupe and 13 instrumentalists for the dynamic show band. Applicants must be 15-20 years of age.
2016 Audition Dates / Locations
February 26th — Eau Claire (UW Eau Claire) Haas Fine Arts Building beginning at 4 PM
February 27th — Wisconsin Rapids, Rapids School of Performing Arts, beginning at 8:30 AM
February 27th — Monona Grove High School, beginning at 2 PM
February 28th — Milwaukee Youth Arts Center beginning at 9 AM
The 33 chosen performers will learn a fully staged Broadway style production and travel across the state performing to over 100,000 people in the summer of 2016.
The summer long tour will be a one of a kind performance experience unlike any other.
The Kids from Wisconsin is part of an entertainment tradition that goes back nearly 50 years to its beginnings as a musical production created for Wisconsin’s talented youth in 1969. Today, the pride and passion that enlightened that early music, lives on through a Kids from Wisconsin Revue.
Performing live annually for more than 100,000 across Wisconsin and the Midwest, the KIDS presents great entertainment with some of Wisconsin’s most talented performers ages 15-20. The revue is produced in collaboration with some of this country’s best writers, arrangers, and choreographers. Costumes are designed and created in Broadway style, adding to the already exciting performance.
KIDS maintain a broad repertoire of music that includes the American favorites, big band, 50’s- 80’s classics, Motown, country, Broadway and current top hits, filling a two hour fully staged performance.
KIDS MISSION
The Kids from Wisconsin shall seek out, train and showcase the musically gifted youth of Wisconsin in a manner which will demonstrate the outstanding artistic talent, personal character and leadership potential present in Wisconsin’s greatest natural resource, its young people.
