Trapped in a Room with a Zombie

Portland Escape Rooms (http://www.portlandescaperooms.com) is hiring enthusiastic, responsible customer service professionals with outgoing personalities who possess a keen interest in live, interactive events or gaming experiences. We have a strong preference for individuals with improvisational skills and acting backgrounds – but will consider applicants with experience leading groups.
We are looking for fully costumed actors to portray roles during an ongoing production that has the participants as protagonists in an interactive experience where they find clues and solve puzzles to escape a room.
Specifically, we are hiring for our newest live escape room, Trapped in a Room with a Zombie.
Casting for the following roles:
Professor VonGuttenberg/Host: (Lead) always energetic and welcoming, will welcome the guest, set up the back story, explain the rules, and let the guest into the room. In the room, the host will oversee safety, enforce rules, and occasionally provide tips. We are looking for volcanic personalities and persons capable of commanding a room.
Zombie/Dr. Oxy: (Lead) once was a world-renowned brain surgeon, now he just wants to eat brains. All the brains! Every brain that comes into the room! Dr. Oxy is always hungry, has many styles and can be scary, sly, surprising, sinister….and many other adjectives that don’t begin with the letter ‘S’, spends most of the show crawling, snarling, growling, and groaning on the floor. Dr. Oxy has chains attached to his/her wrists that get a foot longer every five minutes allowing Dr. Oxy to get a foot closer to the guests who are trying to find their way out of the room as quickly as possible.
PAY:
Performers will start at $25 per performance and will increase to $30 per performance after a trial period. Call time is 30 minutes prior to show time and each show lasts approximately 75 minutes.
Flexible schedule and shifts will vary depending on demand.

PREREQUISITES:
Prior acting experience is beneficial as we are looking for great acting and a fantastic zombie like appearance. All actors are responsible for putting on their own make up before each performance. A resume showing a great work ethic that demonstrates a history of responsibility and trust will go a long way in getting an audition.
AUDITIONS:
Auditions are being held Thursday 10/8 and Friday 10/9 (6:30pm and 8:45pm) with mandatory paid training on Saturday 10/10 and Sunday 10/11. Invited applicants will attempt to escape the room and then have a short audition afterwards.
