CASTING: Chex Mix/Star Wars Commercial — “The Mission”
NON-UNION: 30 second spec commercial for General Mills (Chex Mix) and Lucasfilms/Disney:
A high schooler falls asleep in class and wakes up in a Star Wars themed dream, where he goes on a mission behind enemy lines to steal Chex Mix without getting caught by the Stormtroopers roaming the halls of his high school.
Please submit head-shots, a video reel, and/or a resume.
Compensation:
Rates are listed under specific Role Descriptions. Delicious meals will be served every 6 hours (or under) and a full craft services table will be available to all cast and crew throughout the shoot (we always have the best crafty tables!).
‘Gold Leader’, Lead, Male
15-17 years old
MUST BE AT LEAST 15 YEARS OLD (legal requirement from General Mills/Lucasfilm).
Brian Goldberg (‘Gold Leader’) falls asleep in his boring history class and wakes up in a Star Wars themed dream, where he goes on a mission behind enemy lines to steal Chex Mix without getting caught by the Stormtroopers roaming the halls of his high school.
Rate is $200 for under 12 hours of work.
*Must eat Chex Mix on screen.
Mr. Walrus, Supporting, Male
35-65 years old
MR. WALRUS, a heavyset high school teacher with a mustache to match his name, munches away at a bag of CHEX MIX. He blabbers on about an important day in history that nobody seems to care about and his words morph into nonsense as his classroom slowly falls asleep:
“The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 was blah blah blah blah blah…”
At the end of the commercial, Mr. Walrus screams at one of his students, who has sleepwalked his way to the front of the class, and is eating directly from Mr. Walrus’ precious bag of Chex Mix.
Rate is $150 for under 5 hours of work.

Sleeping Classmates – Background/Extra, Males & Females
14-17 years old
Mr. Walrus gives another boring lecture about an important day in history that nobody in the class seems to care about. A few of the high school students struggle to stay awake, but most have already fallen asleep at their desks.
Rate is $50 for under 4 hours of work.
Stormtroopers – Background/Extra, Males
18-30 years old
Enemy Stormtroopers patrol the hallways of a high school. They’re protecting the Empire’s most prized possession: Limited Edition Rogue One Chex Mix!
We’re looking for fit body-types of average height and weight (remember, all Stormtroopers look exactly alike and should be interchangeable in the frame). Be prepared to walk, run, crouch, and patrol throughout the shoot.
Most of our costumes will be fully authentic looking (like the movies), complete with blasters and cool accessories. A few actors in the far background will have less authentic costumes.
Rate is $100 for under 7 hours of work.
