Mercy Street” is coming back for season 2 and now casting background actors. Both union and non-union background actors in Virginia are welcome to apply for small roles in the show.

Mercy Street” premiered on PBS this past January and the finale aired on February 21st of this year. PBS has renewed the series for a second season and the show begins production of season 2 next month. Casting directors for the historical drama are already looking ahead to season 2 and have released the first casting notice for the show.

The show’s casting directors are now taking talent submissions from actors in the area who would like to be cast as an extra, featured extra or stand-in. The show will be filming in the Richmond VA and Petersburg VA areas beginning in mid April 2016.

Mercy Street” is executive produced by Ridley Scott and David Zucker. The historical drama is set during Civil War times and airs on PBS. While information on specific roles is not yet available, the casting directors for the show are taking general talent submissions via their email address. The series takes place during the Civil War and the show’s CDs are looking for local talent with timeless looks that can easily fit into the Civil War era. The show is set  in an Alexandria hospital and inspired by real people and events, Mercy Street goes beyond the front lines of the Civil War and into the chaotic world of the Mansion House Hospital in Union-occupied Alexandria, Virginia.

PLEASE share with your friends who sing. Looking for great character faces. You DO NOT have to be a professional singer or a member of the Guild, but SAG-AFTRA members are encouraged to submit.

In order to be considered, please do the following:
1) Submit a YouTube link (no files) singing any song (first 18 bars is fine) – must be a soloist – no group. It can be any song.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that you check your email regularly. I’ve emailed a lot of people that respond three days later.

If you submit, you MUST work local. We will not be providing hotel, mileage, etc.

If you don’t include photos, I delete the email. If you don’t include the sizes, I delete the email. If you don’t include the subject, I file the picture for a later date, because I assume you’re not submitting for what I’m currently casting.
