Nashville just made the move to the CMT Network and there is an online talent search to fill a principal role in the show’s 5th season. Casting directors for the series are now accepting video auditions for the role of  Clayton “CLAY” Jones. Clay is described as an African American musician in his 20s. The role involves singing and talent applying must have a great voice. The production is seeking an actor that is actually a musician as well. Playing a guitar and / or keyboards is definitely a plus.

Online auditions are open to talent nationwide and those interested are asked to record their video audition and submit it electronically to the “Nashville” casting team.

Nashville” is set in the Nashville, Tennessee country music scene where 2 professional female country music stars struggle with both their personal and professional lives. The series follows Rayna Jaymes and Juliette Barnes, one an established country super star and the other a young, ambitious, rising star.  “Nashville” stars Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere as the 2 country singers that the series focuses on. The first 4 seasons of “Nashville” aired on ABC.  After ABC cancelled the country music oriented series, CMT came in and picked the show up beginning with season 5. Currently the 5th season is scheduled to film 22 episodes and will be premiering on CMT later this year.

The fifth season of the series is currently in production in Nashville, TN.

Available Role:

Clayton “CLAY” Jones: a young African American musician in his mid-twenties who is destined for great things. He is a creative, self-aware, highly motivated young man who suffers intense mood swings, but is nonetheless charming and outgoing. His musical style is eclectic, with modern elements but also nods to roots Black music, Bluegrass, and even classic Country.

Candidates must be between 21-26 years old (or pass as such), have a great singing voice, and play either guitar or keyboard.

The online open call is going on now. Submissions are being accepted through the 16th of this month.

TAPING INSTRUCTIONS:
1) YOUR SUBMISSION SHOULD CONTAIN FOUR (4) SEPARATE CLIPS
A) SLATE WHICH INCLUDES YOUR NAME, HEIGHT, LOCATION,AND FULL BODY SHOT
B) A SINGING CLIP OF A VERSE AND CHORUS OF A SONG OF YOUR CHOOSING, PREFERABLY SOMETHING IN THE VEIN OF COUNTRY, POP, ALTERNATIVE, OR A COMBINATION OF THOSE. IF YOU PLAY AN INSTRUMENT, PLEASE ACCOMPANY YOURSELF.

D) SCENE 2
2) SCENES 1 & 2 SHOULD BE FILMED WITH A READER OFF-SCREEN READING THE “DEBBIE” ROLE, AND YOU BE FILMED USING A TIGHT SHOT, FROM THE CHEST UP TO THE TOP OF YOUR HEAD
