Open Casting for Netflix “Bloodline” Season 3 in South Florida

By | October 11, 2016

“Bloodline” season 3 is holding an open cast call.

The Netflix series is in production for its 3rd, and what seems to be the final season of the show. Some months back Netflix announced that the show would end after season 3 and also mentioned that the season episode count had been decreased. The show was originally scheduled to run 13 episodes but that number was reduced to 10 this past summer.

The show is set in the Florida Keys and actually films in the Keys as well. “Bloodline” is produced by Sony Pictures Television and according to a THR report that came out over the summer, there is no word yet as to whether Sony will be shopping other networks for any future seasons. Also according to THR, a third season of Bloodline had been uncertain after Florida cut its entertainment tax incentives program, therefore making the series much more costly to produce. But, the third season is happening with only a 2 episode cut.  The cuts to Florida’s film incentive are bad news to the shows that film in Florida and have to compete for the funds. Without the financial breaks, the shows may find that production in the Sunshine State may not be cost effective.  In 2010 Florida allocated 300 million to film and TV projects but it seems most of those funds have now been used with the last of the money going to HBO’s “Ballers which films in Miami and “Bloodline.”

Bloodline season 3 casting notice

Bloodline” stars Kyle Chandler and is described as a twisted family drama.  The official description of the Netflix streaming series reads as follow…. From the creators of “Damages,” “Bloodline” is a dramatic thriller that explores the demons lurking beneath the surface of a contemporary American family. The Rayburns are hard-working pillars of their Florida Keys community, but their past contains dark secrets that they hope remain buried. Paranoia and mistrust build as lies pile up, alliances are shattered, and an unthinkable crime takes place. The tight-knit family’s formerly harmonious relationship deteriorates, and good people are forced to consider doing very bad things.

The show’s extras casting directors will be holding an open casting call this coming Saturday in Key Largo. The show is looking for locals who would love to work as paid background extras in “Bloodline” season 3 or be cast as a featured extra, photo double or stand-in.
