The start of the school year means One Song Glory 2016 is on its way! If you are receiving this email, you may be interested in auditioning for One Song Glory or may know a young performer(s) to share this info with. We urge you to post this notice on events boards in your community, and to forward this information.
One Song Glory is a free musical theatre training intensive for performers between the ages of 13-19. No previous experience or training is required, only a passion for musical theatre and an eagerness to learn. Under the guidance of leading industry professional directors and music directors, students develop the skills, focus and self-discipline that theatre requires. In addition to learning, staging and rehearsing two musical theatre numbers to be performed in the final showcase, students will participate in a range of masterclasses, panel discussions, and workshop sessions led by top experts in the performing arts. Our goal is to offer participants a professional rehearsal experience, insight about the industry and guidance to developing a fruitful career in the performing arts. Above all, this is a chance to express our shared joy of musical theatre. This program is offered at no cost. We are committed to developing the performers of tomorrow, and believe that fees should never be a barrier to engaging in the arts.
New Audition Model! Pre-Intensive Workshop Tour:
This year, in addition to the month-long training intensive, we are bringing a series of one-day audition workshops into communities outside of the Toronto Downtown core. In order to qualify for the training intensive, you must attend one pre-intensive workshop. Performers will participate in a group musical theatre workshop, and an audition-style masterclass.
Participation in one pre-intensive workshop is required to be eligible for the intensive. Participants are required to attend the entire 4 hour session. Workshops will take place as follows:
Sunday October 2, 2016 – Hamilton – 12:00pm – 4:00pm
Tuesday October 11, 2016 – Etobicoke – 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Saturday October 15, 2016 – North York – 9:00am – 1:00pm, OR 2:00pm – 6:00pm
Sunday October 16, 2016 – Scarborough – 9:00am -1:00pm, OR 2:00pm – 6:00pm
Participants must prepare one musical theatre song and bring a copy of the music for the accompanist.This is your chance to show us your personality, passion and pipes – come with a smile and have a great time! Performers will not need to provide a headshot or resume, and there will be no call backs.

Accepted performers are required to attend all intensive training sessions, and the final performance date. Due to the density of this program, we can make no exceptions.

Intensive Training Sessions:
The final showcase will take place on Sunday November 20th at the Toronto Centre for the Arts Studio Theatre, shows 3:30pm and 8:00pm. Tickets for the final showcase will go on sale in early November.
The intensive program will take place in Toronto. Full details will be provided in your participant package distributed to intensive workshop participants before October 29.
