Texas Shakespeare Festival 2017 Season Auditions

Casting the Texas Shakespeare Festival, a non-Equity summer repertory theatre, now accepting electronic audition submissions for its 32nd season: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, CYRANO de BERGERAC, RICHARD III, THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES, a children’s production, and one other small cast show to be announced.

Twelve (12) Actors: Male, 25-55, classically trained actors to be cast in three shows: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, CYRANO de BERGERAC, RICHARD III, or the UpStairs Theatre productions (a small cast show to be announced).

Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Four (4) Actors: Female, 23-45, classically trained actors, who can sing and harmonize, to be cast in THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES, and two other shows: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, CYRANO de BERGERAC, or RICHARD III,

Six (6) Acting Interns: Male and Female, 21-35, classically trained actors to be cast in a children’s production (tba) and three other shows: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, CYRANO de BERGERAC, RICHARD III, or the UpStairs Theatre productions (a small cast show to be announced).

Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Six Actor Touring Company: Male and Female, 21-40, classically trained actors to tour regional in the East Texas area with reduced productions (50-55 minutes) of ROMEO AND JULIET, and SHAKESPEARE’S GREATEST HITS. Four male / three female actors. Contract January 8 through March 6; $300 a week; $400 travel reimbursement, dorm housing, and some meals.

Texas Shakespeare Festival 2016 - 2017

Rehearsal and Production Dates:
Contract runs May 19 through August 3, 2017; Rehearsals (for all shows) May 20 through June 28; Productions June 29 through July 30. Rehearsals and productions are held in Kilgore, Texas.

Compensation:
Actors receive a $3,500 stipend (1st installment on arrival and then every two weeks); dorm housing; $350 travel reimbursement; fourteen meals a week.

Acting Interns receive a $1,250 stipend (1st installment on arrival and then every two weeks); double occupancy dorm housing; and fourteen meals a week

Female Actors and those actors who wish to be considered for the Touring Company, must also submit a song selection.
