A student’s short Film for the University of Northwestern St. Paul

Northwestern Productions, which is a workshop at the University of Northwestern St. Paul is casting for a student’s short film called, “Earl.” We are looking to cast the two roles in this short film. We are looking for an elderly man and a 8 year old girl.

Description: Earl is an elderly man who lost his wife and is now going through his daily routine without her. Mia is a eight year old girl that lives in the house next door to him. This story is about love, lost, and learning that friendship can come from unlikely places.

Characters:

Earl: A elderly weathered looking man. He is trying to live his life after his wife passed away. Earl seems like he misses his wife and is still getting use to her being gone.

Mia: She is a eight year old girl. She lives next door to Earl. She is a caring, energetic, and kindhearted. She thinks about other people’s feelings before her own.

Payment is in the form of credit for just being in the short film, it is unpaid.

Auditions for these two roles will be held this Saturday on January 30th from 5-8 p.m. in the Mel Johnson Media center at 3003 Snelling Ave. N, St. Paul, MN. There will be signs in the building directing people to where the auditions will take place. There will be a short monologue from the script for the actors to read when auditioning. This will be provided at the audition.
