Synopsis:
FOR THE LOVE OF MAMA! True story of how a single mom goes from juggling everyday dramatics, of crazy twists & surprises to an unexpected medical battle of a lifetime! Inspirational hymns, hilarity & family love become the salve to her wounds, as Camille keeps, hope & faith alive!
Character List:
CAMILLE Lead role: Single mom of daughter Tanae (40’s) business partners of a pastry & beauty shop, with longtime friend/neighbor Dee. Camille is floored with a breast cancer diagnosis, attempts keeping it hidden.
BEATRICE BEE: Dr. Luv’s assistant Female (30’s)
DEE Supporting Lead Female Vocalist : Life of the party, (40’s) sharp tongue, is married to Sam, who wears the skirt in their relationship.
DR. JAY LUV Lead Role Vocalist: Camille’s Oncologist (cancer doctor) falls in love with Camille.
SAM: Late (40’s), no children, and is battered by his nagging wife, who wants them. When Sam’s had his fill, Sam speaks up!
TANAE: (Character is 16) (Roll filled by a female 22 – 30’s) Diva Tanae breaks every rule, having no regards for her mother Camille, and is proud of her promiscuity.
THEO: Late (40’s) Camille’s ex-husband, who wants back into the relationship, just in time when he’s needed most. (Vocalist)
MANNY: (Character is 15) ( 18-30’s) Family friend, busies himself fixing what isn’t broken, ending in hilarious disaster.
All talent paid, non-union/independent, must be 22 & older, any ethnicity, any height/weight, EXPERIENCE IS A MUST, online submissions via company e-mail, include recent headshot, resume, 3 minute reel.
Submissions without a reel will not be considered.
Submission deadline August 21, 2017. Chosen talent contacted Tuesday August 22.
Must be prepared to rehearse 2 days per week in person & 1 evening via telephone conference call. Rehearsals start August 26, 2017. ( Location TBD ) Last day of rehearsal October 23rd. Full production details forwarded to talent upon call back.
