Reba has a new sitcom in the works and the TV show needs talent.
Reba McEntire is set to star in a new project for ABC Network. The show will be filming in the Atlanta area shortly and Central Casting is now holding an open casting call for area locals that would love to do a little work on set as paid background TV show extras.
The ABC pilot is brought to you by the folks behind Desperate Housewives and Devious Maids. The new, yet unnamed, show stars country queen Reba McEntire and is set to begin filming in the Atlanta area on March 16th. Production of the TV pilot will run through April 1st. Central states that they will be needing lots and lots of talent on this one with an age range of 6+. That’s right, the show is hiring kids, teens and adult extras for the project. Central also states that this show will be using lots of kids on this one. The majority of the show’s pilot episode is being filmed in the Madison, GA area and casting directors are hoping to get lots of submissions from locals.
The show is described as an hour long “soapy” drama and is created by “Desperate Housewives,” creator, Marc Cherry. So far, ABC has made a pilot order for the show and pick up is still up in the air. According to Variety, the pilot follows Ruby Adair (McEntire), the sheriff of colorful small town Oxblood, Kentucky, who finds her red state outlook challenged when a young FBI agent of Middle Eastern descent is sent to help her solve a horrific crime. Together they form an uneasy alliance as Ruby takes the agent behind the lace curtains of this southern Gothic community to meet an assortment of bizarre characters, each with a secret of their own.
