Synopsis: A young boy tries to cope with the death of his father through the music that connected them before his passing, and in doing so begins to heals his broken family.
Character Descriptions:
Evan (male, 8, any ethnicity) – Just a young boy, Evan has always been plucky, feisty, and full of an open curiosity for the world. His unrelenting optimism battles with the pain of experiencing loss for the first time, but his character is driven by a pure gentle empathy that pushes him towards others, even if it’s hidden behind the fierce attitude of an 8-year-old boy who has never understood why all the “adults” always make life more complicated than it is.
Connor (male, 16, any ethnicity) – Connor, despite having a very musically talented father, always worked with his dad as an equal rather than a fan, and losing him felt as if he lost a dear friend in addition to a father. Connor is responsible and expressive, but the loss of his father has put almost overwhelming pressure on his responsibilities at home and turned his expressive nature to one more volatile.
Heidi (female, mid/late 30s, any ethnicity) – Heidi has always been fearless and headstrong, and when she met her husband it was a near perfect match. When she lost him, it was the first time she had ever felt afraid and helpless. Now detracted, hollow and distrustful, Heidi struggles to find the color in the pieces of her life that are left and her always stubborn head now keeps her trapped in her own mind, separated from the needs of her children.
Father (male, mid/late 30s, any ethnicity) – The father is a child at heart. He loves his family more than anything and wants to teach his kids how to grab life by the balls, all while keeping the people you love closest to you.
