CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FROM NON-EQUITY ACTORS
On behalf of Seen by Scene Entertainment, we are pleased to announce the presentation of Canadian Playwright Carol Shields comedy “Departures and Arrivals” this fall. This is a non-equity, non-paying production.
Auditions will be held on Thursday May 10, 5-9pm, Saturday May 12, 10am-4pm and Thursday May 17, 5-9pm. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Thursday May 24 from 5-9pm.
Thursday evening auditions will take place at St.Michael’s College School Alumni Lounge (located next to the Hockey Arena) at 1515 Bathurst Street. Parking is available. St. Clair West Station is just steps from the building.
On Saturday May 12 auditions will be held in the Francis Room located in the Parish Hall of St. Bonaventure’s Church at 1300 Leslie Street. (Leslie and Lawrence) Parking is available and there is a TTC bus stop outside the Church.
There will be five performances from November 8-11. Individuals involved in the show must be available beginning the week of November 5 for technical and dress rehearsals in the evening. During June, July and August there will be one weeknight rehearsal increasing to 2 weekly rehearsals in September and October prior to opening. Not all characters will be required to attend all rehearsals. Every effort will be made to accommodate Actor’s schedules over the summer.

A copy of the play has been placed on hold at the Metro Reference Library. You are encouraged to read it in advance. Please come prepared with a comedic monologue of your choice or one from the play itself. We are committed to inclusive casting and some roles although identified as male or female may be cast as the opposite gender. Character ages range from 17 -70 as well as two children aged 8-12.
