V-Day is a global activist movement whose mission is simple: It demands an end to violence against women and girls. Once a year in the spring, people assemble globally to organize V-day approved productions.
A few close friends and I are organizing a V-Day event in DC on March 8th.
V-Day DC 2018 will be hosting a reading of A MEMORY, A MONOLOGUE, A RANT AND A PRAYER: WRITINGS TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN & GIRLS a groundbreaking collection by world-renowned authors and playwrights. Proceeds from our event benefit N Street Village https://www.nstreetvillage.org
We are currently seeking participants for our March 8th show. This show is special because it will take place on International Women’s Day but please know all gender identities are welcome.
We cannot perform the whole book, so the selections will be chosen by you, not assigned, based on personal preferences, subject matter, length, and number of participants. Readings do not have to be memorized and may be performed alone, in pairs or in groups. Collaborations are enthusiastically encouraged!
Prior experience is not necessary.
