SEEKING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:
[ TEVYE ] Male, late 30s – 50s. Hardworking and pious Jewish dairyman struggling with the shifting attitudes in 1900s Russia. Husband to GOLDE, father to five daughters. Robust, humorous, and charismatic performer needed, likable from the moment we meet him, even through his moments of struggle, stubbornness, and sometimes rage.
[ GOLDE ] Female, 30s – 50s. TEVYE’s strong-willed wife who wishes for her daughters to have good husbands and live more easily than she and TEVYE. She is the real strength of the household, the practical, no-nonsense partner of her dreamer husband.
[ LAZAR WOLF ] Male, 30s – 40s. The feisty, brawny butcher and the town’s wealthiest citizen who wishes to marry TZEITEL. May also be a TEVYE cover.
[ YENTE ] Female, 30s – 50s. The meddling matchmaker. She is a widow and village busybody who knows all of the town gossip.
[ RABBI ] Male, mid-30s – 50s. A source of wisdom and guidance for the people of Anatevka – spiritually, religiously, and also with advice on their day-to-day lives. May also be a TEVYE cover.
