“Birthmark” is a short documentary that will form a part of Antenna’s Signals Program, which focuses on highlighting individuals in New Orleans doing exemplary work.
This particular film will feature Ashley Hill Hamilton, one of the doulas within the Birthmark Doula Collective and an activist for maternal health and rights.

I am looking to feature women in a sort of collective ensemble, especially those who are either young mothers or pregnant, although I welcome any one who wishes to contribute.
If you have children and would be comfortable with them participating, that would be great, although I understand this can be a sensitive area so it is absolutely not required.
The shoot itself will focus on women in displays of motherhood and community, and will serve as b-roll (visual background) with audio from Ashley’s interview overlaid. Acting experience is not required, as I will be capturing the ensemble in natural/candid states with some very basic posing in-between.
The shoot requires only one day of shooting, and can be best adapted in terms of time and location to fit the participants’ convenience.
