Latino Actors Needed for Short Play based on “La Llorona” in Las Vegas

Latino actors needed! Auditions for horror one-act play based on Mexican folklore tale “La Llorona”.
*Need 3 females ages 20s-40s and 1 male age 20s-40s. (See character breakdown below.)

LA LLORONA: Female age 20-40. Olive or dark skin tone. La Llorona is the title character. During parts of the play, her face is mostly covered, as she is portrayed as a ghostly creature. However, during flashback scenes, she is portrayed as a normal woman. Spanish speaking required.

SOLDIER: Male age 20-40. A Spaniard, fair skin tone, European-looking. The Soldier was La Llorona’s husband. Spanish speaking required.

Women 1 & 2: Females age 20-40. Pregnant women. Women #1 & 2 are essentially narrators/chorus characters. They are constantly in the background assisting to tell the story. Spanish speaking required.

All roles require a small amount of Spanish speaking. Unpaid.
Auditions can be done in person or by video submission, and will include reading of a monologue from the show. Please email to schedule an audition or to request a sample monologue for a video submission. Performances will take place at the Luces de Bohemia Theater on the evenings of the last 2 weekends in October (October 24th, 25th, 26th, 31st, November 1st & 2nd. October 23rd is a mandatory Dress Rehearsal.) Rehearsal will be held 1-2 times per week, and will be scheduled based on cast availability.

Volunteer crew members are also needed. Please email us if you are interested in helping with ushering, box office, concessions stand, or light/sound tech.
