Native American Actors in NYC for Dark Comedy

By | May 14, 2019

Indigenous

Location: New York City, NY

Type: Theater

Seeking two Native American actors to play roles in workshop reading of “Indigenous”–a darkly comic play about white people who flee their problems to travel to an impoverished reservation to help Indians, while Native Americans flee their tragedies by traveling to a white suburb to help save rich people from their money.

MIKE: Male, Native American, late 30s/early 40s. We see him in the wake of an unthinkable tragedy that he has no idea how how to deal with. Uses humor to mask his pain.

One actor to double:
RODNEY: Male, Native American, early 40s. A “solid” guy, a faithful friend. Accompanies Mike off the reservation to help him come to terms with his loss. WES: Male, 50s/60s, Native American: Medicine man on the reservation. Wise and calm but in a self-aware and at times ironic way.

Payment: Paid
