CASTING CALL – AMPUTEE AND BURN SURVIVOR TO PORTRAY VETERANS

Seeking a real lower limb amputee and a facial burn survivor for two roles in a CSUN Thesis Film “SOLDIER GIRL” about veterans dealing with PTSD. Shoots April 23-28 in Los Angeles under the SAG- AFTRA Student Film Agreement. Rate: $125/day Deferred + copy/credit/meals. Both SAG and non union talent can submit. Actors and non- actors welcome.

20 to 25 years old, all ethnicities female. Originally from a small town in rural Alabama and joined the Army to better her life. Now a former Army Sergeant. She was a medic catching a ride on a helicopter, in a combat zone in Afghanistan, when it was shot down. She is the only survivor and lost one of her legs in the crash. As an amputee, she was discharged and awarded the Purple Heart medal. She now suffers from PTSD and depression while rehabilitating at a local V.A. Hospital. She finds her way through the broken system to be failing and experiences suicidal thoughts. She feels like she’s a burden to society since her injury and the world may be better without her. 25 to 35 years old, all ethnicities male. He constantly has nightmares from the sites and sounds he endured for his two tour in Iraq and tour in Afghanistan. His face is was badly burned after his comrades were blown up from running over an IED. He was in the vehicle behind and the felt the effects of the explosion. He has burn scars that cover the a side of his face. He suffers from PTSD and survivor’s guilt. BURN SURVIVORS WITH REAL FACIAL BURN SCARS ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT. SUPPORTING, works 1 day.
