American Lodestar Pilot Casting

Hello! I’m a Casting Director for a new TV pilot called “American Lodestar” and we’re searching for talented, politically driven individuals in Richmond, VA that represent the diverse community of the city and the country. My hope is that a member of your organization might be interested in participating and acting certainly helps with the comfort level of being on camera!
The intention is to reduce the polarization that is happening across our country and connect people (pairing individuals as teams of two) who differ in their political views or personal lifestyle but who are willing to work together to solve some of Richmond’s most challenging economic issues from education to housing to employment. If two people want to apply as a team, most likely they’d live in different households. (More to come if interested.)
The first challenge is our education dilemma due to the pandemic and the economic divide among social classes. By hosting these conversations and presenting an opportunity to engage people, we get to inspire the public by releasing these videos and give voice to those who are passionate and eager to make a difference. If cast, there is compensation for the participants (all will be recorded through video conferencing for now) and there is a large monetary contribution for the best idea that is development through the series.
My job is to find real people who understand the divide and who want to spend time brainstorming and compromising their way to a solution by engaging with leaders and learning more about the issues that are presented to the cast. As I was saying, education is our first subject and we’ve already been interviewing school board and city council members. Knowledge is power and this is a new kind of way to offer solutions and make a difference. We’re still working through the overall structure but it’s real and cast members will have a strong online presence as well as a broadcast if the program is picked up by a large network.
